Quote & Cut needs an API key to connect your WordPress site to your Quote & Cut account.

The API key is used for account validation, quote calculation, nesting, and access to features included with your plan.

Where to find your API key and binding #

Log in to your account at quoteandcut.com.

Then go to:

My Account → Quote & Cut API Keys

This is where you can find your:

  • API key.
  • Site binding details.

Copy these details carefully. You will paste them into your WordPress website.

What the API key does #

Your API key identifies your Quote & Cut account when your website requests quote calculations.

It also allows Quote & Cut to check which features are available on your account, such as Advanced or Enterprise features.

What the site binding does #

The site binding connects your API key to the website where Quote & Cut is installed.

If the WordPress setup screen refers to an activation token, use the binding or activation value provided in:

My Account → Quote & Cut API Keys

Where to connect your account in WordPress #

You can connect your account during the setup wizard, or later from the main settings page.

Go to:

Quote & Cut → Setup Wizard

or:

Quote & Cut → Settings

API key #

Paste your Quote & Cut API key into the API Key field.

This key identifies your Quote & Cut account when your website requests quote calculations.

Site binding or activation token #

Paste your site binding or activation token into the relevant activation field.

When both the API key and binding details are provided, Quote & Cut can connect this WordPress website to your Quote & Cut account.

Currency #

Choose the currency you want Quote & Cut to use for pricing.

The setup wizard uses this currency when saving starter pricing values.

Save or continue #

If you are in the setup wizard, click Continue.

If you are on the main settings page, save your settings after entering the API key and binding details.

Checking account status #

After connecting, the Quote & Cut settings page shows your account status.

The account status panel may show:

Checking account status #

  • Whether an API key is saved.
  • Whether the site is connected.
  • Whether the account has plan features available.
  • Whether the account status was recently refreshed.

If the status does not look correct, use the account refresh option in the settings page.

Common connection issues #

If the API key does not connect:

  • Check that the API key was copied correctly.
  • Check that the site binding or activation token was copied correctly.
  • Make sure your Quote & Cut account is active.
  • Make sure the API key is not already connected to a different site, unless your plan allows it.
  • Save the settings again and refresh the account status.
