Quote & Cut includes an uninstall setting that controls whether plugin data is removed when the plugin is deleted.

You can find this setting from:

Quote & Cut → Settings → Uninstall behaviour

Delete all data on uninstall #

The available option is:

Permanently delete all Quote & Cut data on uninstall

When this is enabled, deleting the plugin will also remove Quote & Cut plugin data from the website.

What is removed when enabled #

When this option is enabled and the plugin is deleted, Quote & Cut can remove:

  • Quote & Cut plugin settings.
  • The nesting jobs upload folder.
  • The hidden Laser Cut Parts WooCommerce product used by the quoting workflow.

Historic WooCommerce order data #

Historic WooCommerce order data is kept.

This means previous WooCommerce orders are not deleted just because Quote & Cut is uninstalled.

Recommended setting #

Leave this option unchecked if:

  • You may reinstall Quote & Cut later.
  • You are temporarily disabling the plugin.
  • You are troubleshooting.
  • You want to keep settings and files available.

Only enable this option if you are sure you want Quote & Cut data removed when the plugin is deleted.

Deactivate vs delete #

Deactivating a plugin and deleting a plugin are different actions in WordPress.

Deactivate
Turns the plugin off but keeps the plugin files and settings.

Delete
Removes the plugin files and may trigger uninstall cleanup.

The uninstall setting only matters when the plugin is deleted, not simply deactivated.

Before deleting Quote & Cut #

Before deleting the plugin, check:

  • You have exported or saved any files you need.
  • You have reviewed WooCommerce orders that contain Quote & Cut jobs.
  • You understand whether data will be removed.
  • You have unchecked the option if you may reinstall later.
