Cards, upload areas, and previews are the main visual parts of the Quote & Cut form.

These areas are controlled by the selected layout, colour palette, preview effect, and typography settings.

Upload area #

The bulk DXF upload area appears near the top of the form.

It lets customers drag and drop DXF files or click to select files.

The upload area is affected by:

  • Background.
  • Card Background.
  • Border Colour.
  • Primary Accent.
  • Secondary Text.
  • Body text font.
  • Labels & helper text font.

Part cards #

Part cards show each uploaded or manually added part.

Depending on the selected layout, part cards may show:

  • DXF upload status.
  • File name.
  • Material selector.
  • Quantity field.
  • Price per part.
  • Part preview.
  • Part details.
  • Remove button.
  • Reorder controls.
  • Secondary Process controls, if Advanced is enabled.

Live summary #

Studio and Workbench layouts include a live summary panel.

This can show information such as:

  • Number of parts.
  • Total quantity.
  • Materials selected.
  • Readiness checks.
  • Current quote total.

The live summary is affected by your card, text, border, and price typography settings.

Part previews #

When a customer uploads a DXF file, Quote & Cut can show a preview of the part.

Part previews are affected by:

  • Card Background.
  • Border Colour.
  • Primary Text.
  • Secondary Text.
  • Preview Effect Colour.
  • Selected calculation effect.

Preview calculation effects #

The Part Preview Effects setting controls the animation shown over each part preview while a price calculation is running.

Available effects are:

  • Off.
  • Scan Sweep.
  • Pulse Glow.
  • Blueprint Grid.
  • Corner Brackets.

Off #

Choose Off if you do not want an animation while prices are calculated.

This creates the simplest visual experience.

Scan Sweep #

Scan Sweep shows a scanning bar moving across the part preview.

This is the default preview effect.

Pulse Glow #

Pulse Glow makes the part preview softly glow while the calculation is running.

Blueprint Grid #

Blueprint Grid shows a CAD-style grid over the part preview.

Corner Brackets #

Corner Brackets show scanner-style corner brackets around the part preview.

Preview Effect Colour #

The Preview Effect Colour controls the colour used by the selected animation.

If left blank, Quote & Cut uses the Primary Accent colour.

Nested preview visibility #

The Styles page controls how previews look.

The main settings page controls whether nested previews are shown to customers.

To hide the nested preview on the frontend, go to:

Quote & Cut → Settings

Then enable:

Do not show nested preview on the frontend

This hides the customer-facing nested preview, but it does not stop Quote & Cut from calculating the quote.

Testing previews #

After changing preview styles:

  1. Open the quote form.
  2. Upload a DXF file.
  3. Confirm the part preview appears.
  4. Click Calculate Price.
  5. Watch the calculation effect.
  6. Check the quote result and nested preview behaviour.

If previews do not appear #

Check:

  • The uploaded file is a valid DXF.
  • The part can be parsed correctly.
  • The preview is not hidden by custom CSS.
  • The quote has calculated successfully.
  • Frontend preview has not been hidden in the main settings, if you expected to see a nested preview.
