Applies to: Core, Advanced, Enterprise
Customers can build a quote with one or more parts.
Each part has its own DXF file, material, quantity, preview, and optional Secondary Process choices.
Adding another part #
Customers can add more parts using the Add Another Part control.
Depending on the selected layout, this may appear as:
- A main button below or beside the parts list.
- An inline button inside a part card after a file has been uploaded.
- A control in the quote builder area.
Bulk upload #
Customers can also add multiple parts by uploading several DXF files at the same time in the bulk upload area.
Quote & Cut creates a part row/card for each uploaded DXF.
Removing a part #
Customers can remove a part using the Remove Part control.
If there is more than one part in the quote, the selected part is removed.
If there is only one part, the form resets that part instead of removing the last row completely.
Replacing a part file #
Customers can replace a part by using the Change DXF option or by clicking the file upload area for that part.
Replacing a DXF changes the geometry, so the quote must be calculated again.
Reordering parts #
Studio and Workbench layouts include part ordering controls.
Customers may be able to:
- Drag parts into a different order.
- Use move up/down controls.
Reordering parts helps customers organise their quote, especially when many DXF files have been uploaded.
Does part order affect price? #
Part order is mainly for organisation.
The final price depends on:
- DXF geometry.
- Material.
- Quantity.
- Nesting result.
- Secondary Processes.
- Pricing settings.
Reordering does not replace the need to calculate the price again if part data has changed.
When the quote resets #
The current calculated quote may reset when the customer changes:
- DXF file.
- Material.
- Quantity.
- Secondary Process selections.
- Part list.
- Part order.
This is expected because the calculation may no longer match the current form data.
Best practice for customers #
Customers should check each part before calculating.
They should confirm:
- The correct DXF is uploaded.
- The material is selected.
- The quantity is correct.
- The preview looks sensible.
- Secondary Processes are correct, if needed.
- Any unit confirmation has been completed.
