After a customer calculates a quote and clicks Add to Cart, the Quote & Cut job is added to the WooCommerce cart.

The cart item contains the calculated job details.

What customers see in the cart #

Depending on your theme and WooCommerce cart layout, customers may see:

  • Product name.
  • Quote price.
  • Cart thumbnail.
  • Number of parts.
  • Total quantity.
  • View parts / Hide parts toggle.
  • Part details.
  • Material selections.
  • Quantities.
  • Weight.
  • Material and cutting cost per part.
  • Secondary Process details, if used.

Cart thumbnail #

For a single-part quote, the cart may show the part preview image.

For a multi-part quote, the cart uses the multi-part job image from:

Quote & Cut → Styles → Cart & Order Display

If no custom image is selected, Quote & Cut uses the bundled default image.

View parts toggle #

The cart display can include a View parts toggle.

This lets the customer expand the cart item and review the parts included in the quote.

The expanded details may show each part as a card or list.

Part details shown in the cart #

Each part can show details such as:

  • Name.
  • Material.
  • Quantity.
  • Weight.
  • Material and cutting cost per part.
  • Folding cost per part, if used.
  • Powder coating cost per part, if used.
  • Powder coating colour, if used.
  • Number of folds, if used.
  • Fold instructions, if entered.

Checkout display #

The checkout page may show a more compact version of the same cart item data, depending on your theme and checkout layout.

The customer should still be able to see enough information to understand what they are ordering.

WooCommerce Blocks support #

Quote & Cut includes cart display support for modern WooCommerce cart and checkout blocks.

If your cart is heavily customised by a theme or cart plugin, test the display carefully before going live.

Price in cart #

The cart item price comes from the calculated Quote & Cut job.

If the customer changes the quote form after adding a job to the cart, they should recalculate and add the updated quote again.

Removing a quote from the cart #

Customers can remove a Quote & Cut cart item using the normal WooCommerce cart remove control.

Removing the cart item does not delete the customer’s uploaded files from any previous completed order.

Testing cart display #

Before going live, test:

  1. One single-part quote.
  2. One multi-part quote.
  3. A quote with different materials.
  4. A quote with folding.
  5. A quote with powder coating.
  6. Cart page.
  7. Checkout page.
  8. Mobile cart and checkout.
  9. WooCommerce order after checkout.
