Applies to: Enterprise

After Sheet Management is enabled, each material can have a sheet stock value.

You can enter stock from the material table.

Go to:

Quote & Cut → Settings → Materials

Sheet Stock column #

Enterprise adds a Sheet Stock column to the material table.

Enter the available number of sheets for each material.

Example values:

  • 0
  • 1
  • 2.5
  • 10
  • 25.75

The field allows decimal values so you can track partial sheet usage.

Stock is linked to the material ID #

Sheet stock is linked to each material row and its material ID.

Avoid changing material IDs after orders have been placed, because inventory usage stored on orders refers to the material ID.

Adding stock to a material #

To add stock:

  1. Go to Quote & Cut → Settings.
  2. Scroll to Materials.
  3. Find the material row.
  4. Enter the number of sheets in Sheet Stock.
  5. Click Save Settings.

Updating stock manually #

You should update stock manually when:

  • New sheets arrive.
  • Stock is physically counted.
  • Sheets are damaged.
  • Material is used outside Quote & Cut.
  • Offcuts are written back into stock.
  • You need to correct a stock value.

Decimal sheet stock #

Use decimals if you want to track partial sheets.

Example:

5.5

This means five and a half sheets.

If you do not want to track partial sheets, use whole numbers.

Stock cannot be negative #

Sheet stock values are kept at zero or above.

If an order uses more than the available stock value, the stock value will not go below zero.

Sheet stock and quote availability #

Sheet stock helps you track stock usage, but you should still review stock before production.

Do not rely on stock values alone if you have manual jobs, offcuts, or other material movement outside Quote & Cut.

Sheet stock and material cost #

Sheet stock does not change the material sheet cost.

Material cost is still controlled by the material Cost field.

Sheet Stock is used for inventory tracking.

Best practice #

For each material, check:

  • Material name.
  • Material ID.
  • Material Type.
  • Sheet length.
  • Sheet width.
  • Sheet cost.
  • Sheet stock.
  • Market Index shown under Market data, if using market indexing.

Then save settings and test a Quote & Cut order.
