Quote & Cut needs an API key before your website can calculate quotes.

The API key connects your WordPress website to your Quote & Cut account. It is used when the quote form sends a job for calculation and nesting.

Where to find your API key #

Log in to your account at quoteandcut.com.

Then go to:

My Account → Quote & Cut API Keys

This is where you can find your:

  • API key.
  • Site binding details.
  • Activation details, if required.

Copy these details carefully and paste them into your WordPress website.

Where to enter the API key in WordPress #

In WordPress, go to:

Quote & Cut → Settings

Find the API & General Settings section.

Paste your API key into the API Key field.

Activation token or site binding #

Quote & Cut may also ask for an Activation Token.

Use the binding or activation value from:

quoteandcut.com → My Account → Quote & Cut API Keys

Paste it into the Activation Token field, then click Activate.

This connects the API key to the website where the plugin is installed.

Saving the connection #

After entering your API key and activation details:

  1. Click Activate, if the activation button is available.
  2. Click Save Settings.
  3. Use Refresh account status to check the latest connection state.

Account status panel #

The account status panel shows whether your site is connected.

It may show information such as:

  • Connection status.
  • Service status.
  • Account type.
  • Quota remaining, if applicable.
  • Site ID.
  • Connected site.
  • Available service features.

Account status meanings #

Connected
Your API key is saved, the website is bound, and Quote & Cut is ready to use.

Not connected
The API key or activation details may be missing, incorrect, or not yet activated.

Bound elsewhere
The API key may already be connected to another website. Check that you are using the API key and binding from the same row in your Quote & Cut account.

Service unavailable
The website could not reach the Quote & Cut service at the time of the refresh. If cached information is available, Quote & Cut may show the last known account state.

Using cached account information
Quote & Cut could not refresh live account details, so it is showing the most recent saved status.

Refreshing account status #

Use Refresh account status after:

  • Adding a new API key.
  • Activating a site binding.
  • Upgrading to Advanced or Enterprise.
  • Renewing or changing your Quote & Cut account.
  • Moving the website to a new domain.
  • Troubleshooting a connection issue.

Managing your account #

If an API key is saved, the settings page may show a Manage account button.

Use this to open your Quote & Cut account area.

Common API connection issues #

If your website does not connect:

  • Check that the API key was copied correctly.
  • Check that the activation token or site binding was copied correctly.
  • Make sure the API key and binding belong together.
  • Make sure your Quote & Cut account is active.
  • Make sure the API key is not already connected to another site, unless your plan allows it.
  • Save settings and refresh account status again.
  • Check whether your website can make outbound requests to the Quote & Cut service.
