Powder coating lets customers add a coated finish to individual parts on the Quote & Cut form.

When powder coating is enabled and fully configured, customers can select a colour and finish level for each suitable part.

You can find the powder coating settings from:

Quote & Cut → Secondary Processes → Powder Coating

Requirements #

Before enabling powder coating, make sure:

  • Quote & Cut is installed and active.
  • Quote & Cut Advanced is installed and active.
  • Your Quote & Cut account includes Advanced or Enterprise access.
  • Your API key and site binding are connected.
  • Materials are configured.
  • Powder coating prices and colours are configured.

Enable powder coating #

To enable powder coating:

  1. Go to Quote & Cut → Secondary Processes.
  2. Find the Powder Coating section.
  3. Tick Enable powder coating.
  4. Complete the required limit and pricing fields.
  5. Configure colours and finish prices.
  6. Click Save Secondary Processes.

The option shown on the settings page is:

Show Powder Coating when configured and available for the part.

Required powder coating settings #

For powder coating to be usable, configure:

  • Maximum powder coating length.
  • Maximum powder coating width.
  • Maximum powder coating weight.
  • Powder coverage rate.
  • Default setup fee per powder colour.
  • Minimum powder coating charge.
  • Per-part powder coating charge.
  • At least one enabled colour.
  • At least one finish price for an enabled colour.

For a live setup, enter positive maximum length, width, and weight limits so powder coating is fully configured.

What customers see #

When powder coating is available for a part, customers can select:

Add powder coating

Then they can choose:

  • Colour.
  • Finish level.

If you enable the Other Colour option, customers may also be able to choose a manual quote option for colours not listed.

When powder coating appears on the quote form #

Powder coating appears only when it is:

  • Enabled.
  • Fully configured.
  • Within your maximum length limit.
  • Within your maximum width limit.
  • Within your maximum single-part weight limit.
  • Backed by enabled colours.
  • Backed by available finish prices.

If a part does not meet your configured rules, powder coating is not offered for that part.

Customer instruction text #

Use the Customer instruction text field to explain your powder coating process.

Example:

Select your preferred colour and finish below. Colour previews are for guidance only and may vary from the finished coating.

This text is shown on the frontend when powder coating is available.

These previews are for guidance only.

Customers should not treat screen colours as an exact coating match.

Saving changes #

After enabling or editing powder coating, click:

Save Secondary Processes

Then test the quote form on the frontend.
