If Quote & Cut Advanced is installed and configured, customers may see Secondary Process options on the quote form.
Secondary Processes are optional services added to individual parts.
Quote & Cut Advanced includes:
- Folding.
- Powder coating.
Where the options appear #
Secondary Process options appear inside each part row/card when they are available.
The customer may see:
- Add folding.
- Add powder coating.
These options are shown per part.
Per-part selection #
Secondary Processes do not have to be applied to every part.
For example:
- Part 1 can have folding.
- Part 2 can have powder coating.
- Part 3 can have both.
- Part 4 can have neither.
Folding fields #
When a customer selects folding, the form can show:
- Number of folds.
- Fold notes.
- Folding drawing upload.
The number of folds is required when folding is selected.
The folding drawing is optional.
Powder coating fields #
When a customer selects powder coating, the form can show:
- Colour selector.
- Finish selector.
The customer must select both a colour and an available finish.
Other Colour #
If the Other Colour option is enabled, the customer may be able to choose a colour that requires manual review.
When Other Colour is selected, Quote & Cut does not calculate an automatic price for that selection.
The customer is shown your manual quote message and contact button, if configured.
Why Secondary Process options may be hidden #
An option may be hidden if:
- Advanced is not active.
- The process is not enabled.
- The process is not fully configured.
- The material is not allowed.
- The thickness is not allowed.
- The part is too long.
- The part is too wide.
- The part is too heavy.
- No powder colours or finish prices are available.
- Your account does not include Advanced or Enterprise access.
Customer instructions #
The Secondary Processes settings page includes customer instruction text fields.
Use these to explain what customers need to provide.
Example folding instruction:
Please enter the number of folds and upload a folding drawing where possible.
Example powder coating instruction:
Select your preferred colour and finish. Colour previews are for guidance only.
Testing Secondary Processes on the frontend #
Before going live, test:
- A part that can use folding.
- A part that cannot use folding.
- A part that can use powder coating.
- A part that cannot use powder coating.
- A colour with all finish prices.
- A colour with some missing finish prices.
- Other Colour, if enabled.
- A checkout order containing Secondary Processes.
