Quote & Cut adds WooCommerce shipping methods for laser-cut part delivery.

These are configured in WooCommerce shipping zones, just like normal WooCommerce shipping methods.

Where to configure delivery methods #

In WordPress, go to:

WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Shipping Zones

Open the shipping zone you want to edit.

Then add or configure the Quote & Cut delivery methods you want to offer.

Available Quote & Cut delivery methods #

Quote & Cut includes:

  • Courier Delivery.
  • Pallet Delivery.
  • Lorry Delivery.

Each method can have its own cost, title, tax status, and size or weight rules.

Courier Delivery #

Courier Delivery is a flat-rate courier option for Quote & Cut parts that fit within your configured parcel limits.

Courier Delivery is only shown when every Quote & Cut part fits the courier size and weight rules.

Courier settings include:

  • Checkout title.
  • Tax status.
  • Delivery cost.
  • Maximum total weight in kilograms.
  • Maximum part length in centimetres.
  • Maximum part width in centimetres.

Use Courier Delivery for smaller jobs that can be packed and sent by parcel courier.

Pallet Delivery #

Pallet Delivery is used for jobs that fit on a pallet.

Pallet Delivery can include:

  • Standard pallet.
  • Large pallet.

You can enable one or both pallet tiers.

Standard pallet settings include:

  • Standard pallet cost.
  • Maximum part length in centimetres.
  • Maximum part width in centimetres.
  • Weight per pallet in kilograms.

Large pallet settings include:

  • Large pallet cost.
  • Maximum part length in centimetres.
  • Maximum part width in centimetres.
  • Weight per pallet in kilograms.

If the order weight exceeds the weight per pallet, Quote & Cut can multiply the pallet cost by the number of pallets required.

Use Pallet Delivery for jobs that are too large or heavy for courier but do not require lorry delivery.

Lorry Delivery #

Lorry Delivery is a flat-rate option for larger jobs.

It can also act as a fallback when courier and pallet delivery are unavailable.

Lorry settings include:

  • Checkout title.
  • Tax status.
  • Delivery cost.
  • Availability.
  • Maximum part length in centimetres.
  • Maximum part width in centimetres.
  • Maximum total weight in kilograms.

The size and weight limits are optional for Lorry Delivery. If you leave a size or weight limit blank, that limit is treated as unlimited.

Lorry availability #

Lorry Delivery has two availability options:

Only show when courier/pallet are unavailable
Use this if lorry delivery should act as a fallback for jobs that do not fit smaller delivery methods.

Show whenever the lorry rules pass
Use this if customers should be able to choose lorry delivery even when courier or pallet delivery is also available.

Recommended delivery setup #

A common setup is:

  1. Courier Delivery for small parts.
  2. Pallet Delivery for medium and heavier jobs.
  3. Lorry Delivery as a fallback for oversized jobs.
  4. Local Pickup / Collection available for customers who want to collect.

Then, in Quote & Cut → Settings → Checkout & Delivery, choose whether normal WooCommerce shipping methods should be hidden when Quote & Cut parts are in the cart.

Testing delivery methods #

After configuring delivery methods:

  1. Run a small test quote that should fit courier limits.
  2. Run a larger quote that should require pallet delivery.
  3. Run an oversized quote that should require lorry delivery or collection.
  4. Check the cart and checkout after each test.
  5. Confirm the shipping options and prices are correct.

If no delivery method is available #

If no configured delivery method can handle the size or weight of the parts, the customer may need to choose collection or contact you for a delivery quote.

Check:

  • The Quote & Cut delivery methods are added to the correct WooCommerce shipping zone.
  • Costs are entered and greater than zero.
  • Size and weight limits are realistic.
  • The customer address matches the shipping zone.
  • Checkout visibility settings are not hiding the wrong methods.
