Quote & Cut can generate nesting and production files from the customer’s quote calculation.
The generated files are attached to the WooCommerce order.
Where to find generated files #
Open the WooCommerce order:
WooCommerce → Orders → Open Order
Find the Quote & Cut Files box.
Generated files may appear in sections such as:
- Nesting Results.
- Standard Nested DXFs.
- Editable Nested DXFs.
- Editable Nested DXFs Per Sheet.
- Inner/Outer Layered DXFs.
- Inner/Outer Layered DXFs Per Sheet.
- Inner/Outer Layered DXFs Per Part.
- Inner/Outer Layered DXFs Per Part Per Sheet.
The exact sections depend on which generated order file options were enabled.
Enabling generated files #
Generated file options are configured from:
Quote & Cut → Settings → Generated Order Files
If a file type is disabled, Quote & Cut will not attach that file type to new orders.
Generated from one quote calculation #
Generated order files are created from the customer’s calculation result.
Enabling more output formats does not mean the customer needs to run more quote requests.
Downloading files #
Each available file appears with a download button.
Click the relevant button to download the file.
Examples:
- Download nested layout.
- Download editable DXF.
- Download per-sheet DXF.
- Download nesting result JSON.
The exact button text uses the file name.
If a generated file is missing #
Check:
- The file type was enabled before the customer placed the order.
- The customer successfully calculated the quote.
- The quote was added to cart after calculation.
- The job was not pricing-only.
- The job did not skip layout generation.
- The website has permission to write files.
- Files have not been manually deleted.
- The order contains Quote & Cut job data.
Simplified or pricing-only results #
In some cases, a customer can be priced successfully but the nesting layout output may be simplified or not generated.
If this happens, the order may show a layout status notice explaining the reason.
Read the notice before assuming the order failed.
Production caution #
Generated files are intended to support your production process.
Your team should still review the files before cutting.
Check:
- Correct material.
- Correct thickness.
- Correct quantities.
- Correct scale.
- Correct layout.
- Correct inner/outer layers, if used.
- Any customer notes.
- Any folding or powder coating requirements.
