Quote & Cut can attach several generated file types to WooCommerce orders.

Which files appear depends on your settings in:

Quote & Cut → Settings → Generated Order Files

Nesting Results #

The Nesting Results file is the raw nesting result JSON.

Use this for:

  • Support.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Preserving calculation data.
  • Reviewing detailed quote or nesting information.

Most users should leave this enabled.

Standard Nested DXF #

The Standard Nested DXF is a single nested layout file.

Use this when you want a standard nested DXF output from the calculated job.

This is usually one of the most useful production files.

Editable Nested DXF #

The Editable Nested DXF places each part instance on its own layer.

Use this if your operator may need to rearrange parts or work with each placed instance separately in CAM software.

Editable Nested DXF Per Sheet #

This creates a separate editable DXF for each sheet in the nest.

Use this if your workflow handles each sheet as a separate file.

Inner/Outer Layered DXF #

This separates internal and external contours onto different layers.

Use this if your cutting or CAM process benefits from inner cuts and outer cuts being separated.

Inner/Outer Layered DXF Per Sheet #

This creates one inner/outer layered DXF for each sheet in the nest.

Use this when you want sheet-by-sheet files with inner and outer contours separated.

Inner/Outer Layered DXF Per Part #

This separates each placed part instance into its own inner and outer contour layers.

Use this if your production process needs part-level separation inside the generated file.

Inner/Outer Layered DXF Per Part Per Sheet #

This creates detailed per-part, per-sheet outputs with inner and outer contour separation.

Use this if your workflow needs the most granular file separation.

Original DXFs #

Original DXFs are not generated files.

They are the files uploaded by the customer.

They appear in the Original DXFs section of the order files box.

Folding Drawings #

Folding Drawings are uploaded by the customer when folding is selected.

They are available only when Quote & Cut Advanced is active and the customer uploaded a folding drawing.

Recommended starting setup #

For most users, start with:

  • Nesting Results.
  • Standard Nested DXF.

Then enable additional output formats only if your production team needs them.

Too many output formats can make the order files section more crowded.

Which file should production use? #

This depends on your workflow.

A simple workflow might use:

  • Original DXF for customer source file review.
  • Standard Nested DXF for production.
  • Nesting Result JSON for troubleshooting.

A more advanced workflow might use:

  • Editable Nested DXF.
  • Per-sheet DXFs.
  • Inner/outer layered outputs.

Test the generated files with your CAM software before relying on them for live production.
