Applies to: Advanced, Enterprise
Secondary Processes appear directly on the Quote & Cut frontend form when they are enabled and available.
Customers select these options per part.
Where the options appear #
After a customer uploads a DXF file and selects a material, Quote & Cut can show a Secondary processes section for that part.
Depending on your settings, this section may include:
- Add folding.
- Add powder coating.
Per-part selection #
Secondary Processes are selected per part.
This means:
- Part 1 can have folding.
- Part 2 can have powder coating.
- Part 3 can have both, if available.
- Part 4 can have no Secondary Processes.
The customer does not have to apply the same finishing options to every part.
Folding fields #
When the customer selects Add folding, the form shows:
- Number of folds.
- Fold notes / instructions.
- Folding drawing upload.
The customer must enter at least one fold.
The folding drawing is optional.
Powder coating fields #
When the customer selects Add powder coating, the form shows:
- Colour picker.
- Finish level dropdown.
The customer must select both a colour and an available finish level before the quote can be calculated.
Colour picker #
The powder coating colour picker shows enabled colours from your Secondary Processes settings.
Customers can search for a colour using the colour search field.
Each colour can show:
- Preview swatch.
- Colour name.
- Available finish levels.
Colour previews are for guidance only.
Finish level dropdown #
The finish dropdown is based on the selected colour.
If a finish price is blank for that colour, that finish is not available.
Other Colour behaviour #
If Other Colour is enabled, it appears as the first colour option.
When selected, the quote changes to a manual quote flow for that colour.
The customer sees your message and optional contact button.
Automatic pricing is not available while Other Colour is selected.
Why options may not appear #
Secondary Process options may not appear if:
- Advanced is not active.
- The account does not include Advanced or Enterprise access.
- The process is disabled.
- Required settings are incomplete.
- The selected material is not allowed for folding.
- The selected thickness is not allowed for folding.
- The part is too long.
- The part is too wide.
- The part is too heavy.
- No powder colours are enabled.
- No finish prices are available.
Messages shown to customers #
If a finishing option is not available, customers may see a message explaining that some finishing options are not available for the part.
This helps customers understand why folding or powder coating cannot be selected.
How pricing appears #
Secondary Process prices are included in the quote result.
The final quote can include:
- Base laser cutting price.
- Folding price.
- Powder coating price.
- Setup fees.
- Minimum charge adjustments.
- Surcharges.
The exact breakdown shown depends on the frontend layout and diagnostics settings.
Cart and order display #
After the customer adds the quote to the cart, Secondary Process choices are stored with the Quote & Cut job.
WooCommerce order data can include details such as:
- Folding selected.
- Number of folds.
- Folding notes.
- Folding drawing filename.
- Powder coating selected.
- Colour.
- Finish level.
- Secondary Process costs.
Recommended frontend test #
Before going live, test:
- One part with folding.
- One part with powder coating.
- One part with both options, if you offer both.
- Multiple parts with different Secondary Process choices.
- A part that is too large for folding.
- A part that is too heavy for powder coating.
- Other Colour, if enabled.
- Cart and checkout.
- WooCommerce order details.
