The Other Colour option lets customers request a powder coating colour that is not listed in your configured colour table.
Because Quote & Cut cannot automatically price an unknown colour, selecting Other Colour prevents automatic quote calculation and directs the customer to contact you.
You can find this setting from:
Quote & Cut → Secondary Processes → Powder Coating → Other Colour enquiry option
Enable Other Colour option #
Tick:
Enable Other Colour option
The setting says:
Show this as the first colour option and require a manual quote when selected.
When enabled, Other Colour appears at the top of the powder coating colour picker.
Option label #
The Option label controls the name shown in the colour picker.
Default:
Other Colour
You can change this to something more specific.
Examples:
- Custom Colour.
- Colour Not Listed.
- Special RAL Colour.
- Request Another Colour.
Contact message #
The Contact message is shown when the customer selects Other Colour.
Default message:
You have selected a custom powder coating colour. Automatic pricing is not available for this option. Please contact us for a manual quote.
Use this message to explain what the customer should do next.
Show contact button #
Tick Show contact button if you want to display a button below the message.
The button appears only when a contact page or custom contact URL is available.
Contact page #
Choose a WordPress page to use as the contact destination.
This is used when no custom contact URL is entered.
Custom contact URL #
The Custom contact URL overrides the selected contact page.
Use this if you want the button to link to a specific form, enquiry page, or external URL.
Contact button text #
The Contact button text controls the label on the button.

- Request a Manual Quote.
- Contact Us About This Colour.
- Send a Powder Coating Enquiry.
What happens on the quote form #
When the customer selects Other Colour:
- Quote & Cut shows your manual quote message.
- Quote & Cut can show the contact button.
- Automatic pricing is not available for that powder coating choice.
- The customer must remove Other Colour or contact you for a manual quote.
When to use Other Colour #
Use Other Colour if:
- You offer colours beyond your standard list.
- Special colours need supplier checks.
- Special colours need manual pricing.
- You want to capture enquiries without allowing automatic checkout.
- You want customers to ask before ordering unusual finishes.
When not to use Other Colour #
Do not enable Other Colour if you only want customers to choose from fixed, automatically priced colours.
In that case, keep Other Colour disabled and only enable the colours you can quote automatically.
Testing Other Colour #
After enabling Other Colour:
- Open the quote form.
- Upload a DXF file.
- Select powder coating.
- Open the colour picker.
- Choose Other Colour.
- Check the message.
- Check the contact button.
- Confirm automatic pricing is prevented.
- Remove Other Colour and choose a priced colour.
- Confirm automatic pricing works again.
